CARTERSVILLE, Ga. (March 2, 2009) - While the office market sleeps, looks like industrial developers are lining up entitlements for the next wave of projects.
Take TPA Realty Services of Johns Creek Ga. The firm just filed plans with Bartow County, Ga., officials for Highland 75, a proposed 707-acre industrial park. If all goes as planned, TPA will develop 8.4 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space at the park at Mt. Zion and Cass White roads near I-75 close to Cartersville. The property is owned by the Cartersville Bartow Joint Development Authority, according to a Development of Regional Impact filing made public today.
TPA knows large-scale development. It created Technology Park/Atlanta, Johns Creek, The Bluffs and Stanton Springs, all in the metro Atlanta area. Its heritage ties back to local legendary developer Charlie Brown, and its current executives include Sean Coughlin, Rick O'Brien and Marie Kastens.
Bartow County forwarded TPA's application to the state to approval the initial concept for Highland 75, so the process has only just begun. The project's time line calls for completion of the park by Jan. 1, 2019.
