ATLANTA (Sept. 16, 2014) - Atlanta's King and Queen buildings are about to get some royal company.
Buckhead-based Regent Partners has filed plans to add 300 apartments at the landmark Concourse Office Park at 5900 Peachtree Dunwoody Road in the Central Perimeter submarket. Regent plans to throw in a new restaurant for good measure, according to the DRI filing.
The move by Regent represents two commercial real estate trends. The first is the move toward making everythin mixed-use. In fact, we're almost to the point where every commercial development is mixed-use, or it's obsolete.
The second is the trend of developers who specialize in other property types building apartments. The white-hot multifamily market makes it too tempting for most to stand on the sidelines.
If demand fo the limited apartment offerings outpaces supply, potential renters will be asked to identify whether Concourse V is the King or the Queen building.
